The ‘Greensand Corbett’
The objective for the walk is to clock up as much ascent as one would otherwise have to do in order to climb a Scottish Corbett from sea level (2500-3000ft). We shall therefore thoroughly explore the hills around the Holmbury area and, as the title implies, our route will include many sections of The Greensand Way. This will be a tough but hopefully enjoyable day in the Surrey Hills. Bring a picnic lunch.
As is the custom for these ‘end of summer time’ walks, I plan to have a pub meal in one of the Holmbury Pubs afterwards (the choice will be confirmed nearer the time). Do let me know if you would like to join me so I can judge whether or not it would be sensible to reserve a table. This will be the last day of 'Summer Time' (the clocks change on the 29th) so let's make the most of it. Sunset is reckoned to be 5:45pm so do bring a torch just in case we run late.
